great dim sum and an extensive menu of dishes. the deep fried beancurd with salt and pepper was delicious. each cube of tofu had a perfectly crispy crust, while its center maintained an addictively custardy texture. the gai lan in garlic was also very good: the veggies were perfectly cooked through and managed to avoid sogginess. the monk's vegetables dumplings had really chewy skins and were a delight to eat as well.

I won’t say it loudly but this is probably the best homely dim sum place in Chinatown. Food and service are impeccable. Prices have sadly increased significantly since lockdown but quality remains outstanding. Thankfully it doesn’t get busy as some other most western orientated Chinese restaurants that people will queue ages to get into. Which is good for me

Excellent dim sum. Efficient service. Great value. Noted from some of the reviews that people may rate the dim sum more highly than a la Carte menu. We ordered exclusively dim sum and it was really good.

The decoration is plain, but I feel the environment is clean. The waiters have good attitude and are very polite. The food tastes pretty good. I don't think the MSG is too much. The location is convenient.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. As my friend and I walked by, a man from their team approached us outside. I was a bit skeptical about trying it because I had experienced hostility at other Chinese places (we are Black). I asked him for his recommendations, and he suggested the number 235 or the shredded chicken fried rice. When we entered, we were greeted warmly by an older gentleman who asked us what we wanted. I ordered the dishes he recommended, and the portions were generous. I was surprised when he said I didn't need a sauce for the rice, but the sweet and sour sauce was absolutely delicious! Even the rice on its own tasted amazing, but when mixed with the sauce, it was heavenly! I would recommend this place!!! I

Fantastic dim sum place in Chinatown. I lived in Singapore for 18 years and can assure you that you will find authentic dim sum here for an affordable price. Service was attentive and efficient - they made sure to keep topping up our tea, which is always a good sign in an Asian restaurant. Adrianna and others who have given a 3 star review on the basis of poor, disengaged service, clearly don't know that that's just how servers in a Chinese restaurant are! That's how you know that you are getting an authentic experience! Furthermore, their comments about the underwhelming food is just because they've ordered the most anglicised things off the menu as seen in their pictures (chicken chow mein for example). This restaurant deserves far more than a 3.8 rating on google. Judging by the number of Asian customers in this restaurant, I would say that many would agree. Lido restaurant definitely satisfied my dim sum craving. I will be back :)

Organised a large group for dim sum. Been years since l had been here. Quality of food is still good. Portions are standard, service was friendly and efficient and dim sum prices are better than most restaurants in Chinatown. Came back again with another friend and her kids. Not ideal to sit in a small corner table as it’s hard to grab the attention of staff. This is my place to go for dim sum now.

We went during high peak season and let’s say the waiting part we didn’t enjoy. I believe we waited like 15-20 mins and to be honest it’s not bad I guess without reservations. The food was pretty good that my husband wanted to go a second time during our 5 days stay in London.
